  International Credit Union Day 2025

Tomorrow,  credit union members worldwide will celebrate International Credit Union Day. 

The Griffith Institute Employees’ Federal Credit Union Board of Directors would like to thank its members for being part of the Credit Union.   In celebration of International Credit Union Day, the CU has delivered mints to the Main Office of each building for distribution on Thursday.   

 Credit unions are not-for-profit financial cooperatives and the focus has always been on service to our members.  This service is provided in many ways – from financing for a new car to providing a small loan to get through tough times. Each member has an equal vote in electing a volunteer board of directors.  Since there are no stockholders, you receive higher rates on savings accounts, lower rates on loans, and lower service fees.

The Board extends an invitation to all non-members to join the Griffith Institute Employees’ Federal Credit Union.

  Christmas Clubs 2025

The Credit Union is offering Christmas Club accounts starting in November.  Save for next Christmas with a bi-weekly payroll deductions or monthly deposits for members that do not have their pay deposited.   This account will earn the same interest rate as the normal share accounts.  The first deduction would be taken from the first pay period in November and the last one for the year will be the last pay period in October 2026.  A check will automatically be mailed to you in time for Holiday shopping.  If you are not a member, it is a simple process to join the Credit Union.

For members who already have a Christmas Club, the checks will be mailed out on October 31st.  The check amount will be the balance in your account (minus the cents).  If you would like a different amount, OR you don’t want a check at this time OR you want to pick up your check, please contact the Credit Union prior to October 22nd.   Unless we hear from you that you would like a change, your deduction for your Christmas Club account will continue in November.   If you need to make a change of any type, please let us know.
